Seacoast Academy of Music presents a four day camp, August 6, 7, 8, 9, from 9am - 12 noon called "Band Geek for a Week." It is the perfect time for students who would like to play a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument for their own enjoyment or in their school band. Our
experienced and enthusiastic teachers, Zach Lange, Jen Larson, Nick Mainella, Dedrick Schimke, Hannah Liuzzo and Jamie Sokolowski, will show the students how to assemble, hold and begin to play each instrument (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, snare drum).
All students will learn basic note and rhythm reading. The week will conclude on August 10 with a mini-band performance and Pizza Party for Band Campers and families.
This is a great opportunity for students entering grades 4,5,6 to figure out what instrument is right for them before they enter a beginning band program and start renting. It is also the time and place for students entering grades 6 and 7, who may want to explore another instrument.
Please pass along the registration forms to any students who are interested.
Sincerely,
Jamie Sokolowski Band-Camp Coordinator
