SAM is dedicated to training people to become good musicians. However, it is easy to injure your body if you are not aware of harmful postures and movements. One of the leading methods of teaching body awareness and the "best use of self" is the Alexander Technique. We welcome Carol Kenney, a graduate of the Ted Dimon Institute for Alexander Technique, to our SAM teaching staff. The Alexander Technique is taught in universities and conservatories such as the Juilliard School, the New England Conservatory of Music, Yale School of Drama and UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television...and now at Seacoast Academy of Music!
This year we are thrilled to introduce an exciting program of West African Dance and Drumming. Liz Fowler-Camara and Alhasanne Camara have designed their workshops and classes at SAM for the enjoyment of students of all ages. Students may select the entire series or just drop in for an hour of exhilarating rhythmic self-expression!
On behalf of all the teachers and staff at Seacoast Academy of Music, I thank you for visiting our website.
